Bytown Lodge was saddened by the passing of Brother Ian (John) Croft on 28 June 2010, after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
At the request of his family, Bytown conducted a Masonic memorial Service under the leadership of our new WM, Brian Pepper, just prior to the general memorial service celebrating his life. The services took place at the McEvoy-Shields Chapel on 5 July.
In addition to the DDGM of Ottawa District 2 and thirteen members of Bytown, three Brethren from other lodges were able to participate.
Brother Croft was a many-talented man, whose accomplishments and adventures could have filled several novels. Although he was a relatively new member of our Brotherhood, he was nonetheless an enthusiastic supporter of every aspect of the Craft.
We honour his memory and are grateful for having known him.
